Woman uses counterfeit bills for hefty purchase

Birmingham police are investigating an instance of retail fraud at a Birmingham clothing store located on the 100 block of S. Old Woodward after an employee reported a customer using counterfeit bills on Wednesday, April 2, to purchase merchandise. 


According to the police report, the employee stated the woman bought about $850 worth of clothing at the Birmingham location using the fake bills then later made the same purchase at the store’s Troy location.
