Troy police witness Birmingham package theft

While conducting surveillance of a mail theft suspect in Birmingham on Thursday, February 6, Troy police officers saw two men steal a package off the porch of a home on the 1400 block of Webster.

According to a police report with the Birmingham police department, the Troy officers saw the men take the package then flee in a vehicle, which they followed until losing sight of it due to reckless driving by the thieves. The owner of the Webster Street home called shortly after the pursuit to report that the package with his new iPhone was missing.

Birmingham police report that an investigation is ongoing.
