Township hosts electronic, medical waste event

:

Bloomfield Township is hosting an electronic waste, paper shredding and medication disposal drop off event at the township municipal campus this Saturday, November 5, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Residents will have the opportunity at this popular event to dispose of old electronics, paper documents and those medications filling medicine cabinets. This event is open to township residents only, and proof of residency is required.

This is a great opportunity to clean out your garage and basement in an environmentally sound way and get rid of old computers, TVs, VCRs, and other outdated electronic items. Safely dispose of old, unused medications, and documents that are no longer needed. Just pull up to the township campus, and staff will unload your car.

A large turnout is expected which may cause long lines. Township staff is known to hustle to keep the cars moving to ensure all can participate.

Bloomfield Township has provided some information: There will be two entrances to the event, south onto Andover Road from Long Lake Road or west onto Andover Road from southbound Telegraph. Have your ID out and ready to show volunteers. Stay in your vehicle. Volunteers will unload everything from your car.

In addition, for those looking to drop off absentee ballots or looking for access to the clerk's office, it will be open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and routes will remain open to Township Hall.
