Suspicious activity in Birmingham leads to arrest

A man was arrested on the 200 block of N. Old Woodward in Birmingham on Tuesday, August 1, at 4 a.m. after police received a report of a man on a rooftop.

According to reports, a witness stated they saw a man sleeping on a landing behind the building on N. Old Woodward, and heard footsteps in a vacant upstairs unit. When officers went into the building, they found nobody inside but noticed the man sleeping on the landing.

The man claimed not to have entered or slept inside the building, but police soon found out he had outstanding warrants out of the Macomb County Sheriff’s Office for driving while intoxicated.

Birmingham police said they arrested the suspect on the outstanding warrants.
