Police have suspect in case of fraudulent checks

A 60-year-old male resident of the 800 block of Chesterfield in Birmingham came to the police department at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, February 12, to report that someone had produced and cashed multiple fraudulent checks from his business checking account.


The fraudulent checks totaled more than $4,500, for which the bank reimbursed the victim.


Police have identified a suspect from information on the phony checks and an investigation is ongoing.
