Pickup truck stolen off Oakland Avenue

For the second time this year, the driver of a pickup truck had his vehicle stolen, this time off of Oakland Avenue just west of Park Street in Birmingham.

Back in July, the truck was stolen from the driver while the vehicle was parked in Troy. Luckily it was later recovered but there were no arrests, according to police. On Saturday, September 9, around 12 p.m., the driver was again a victim of auto theft after he left his car in a metered parking spot only to come back to discover it missing.

According to Birmingham police, the driver and passenger were adamant that the truck was locked, but there were no signs of forced entry near the parking spot. Allegedly, the driver thinks the same thieves who took the truck the first time are responsible for the latest theft.

Birmingham police said an investigation is ongoing.
