Intoxicated man arrested in Birmingham

A Detroit man was arrested in Birmingham in the early afternoon of Wednesday, March 12, after drivers on S. Old Woodward reported that he had been knocking on car windows trying to get peoples’ attention. 

According to Birmingham police, the man is known among the department from previous disorderly person complaints and an assault charge. Officers were able to find him on the street and let him know about the complaints, but when they found him he was holding an open beer can. He reportedly finished the beer off in front of the officers before throwing it out, which led to him receiving a citation for possession and consumption of alcoholic beverages in a public space.
