Gunshot fired outside Birmingham Daxton Hotel

A gun was fired outside the Daxton Hotel in Birmingham following a fight involving several people on Sunday, October 30, and police are searching for both the suspects and victims.

Birmingham police reported to the Daxton Hotel, 298 S. Old Woodward Avenue, after receiving a report of a fight with possible shots fired. A single shell casing was found in the middle of S. Old Woodward, while police searched for suspects and victims.

Witnesses reported that several individuals were involved in an altercation outside the Daxton Hotel, and a shot was fired into the air by one individual before taking off from the scene.

No injuries were reported during the altercation.

Birmingham Police state there are no suspects in custody at this time, but an investigation is ongoing.
