Fake car insurance, registration prompts arrest

A senior from Bloomfield Hills was arrested by Birmingham police on Tuesday, May 28, after officers caught him driving with incorrect registration tabs and forged insurance documents.

The Birmingham police department’s report said officers on patrol around E. Maple Road and Park Street noticed a car with an out-of-state license plate and “noticeably incorrect” registration tabs. When they pulled the driver over, they noticed the license plate expired in 2016 and the man had given the officers forged vehicle insurance.

He was arrested by Birmingham police, who said an investigation is ongoing.
