Envelope with flash drive stolen from mailbox

A flash drive containing sensitive information was taken from a Birmingham resident’s mailbox around 9:30 p.m. on Monday, June 26, leading police to warn the victim about unauthorized accounts.


According to the victim, who lives in the 300 block of Frank Street, the flash drive was sealed inside an envelope in her mailbox. The victim filed a police report and was told to keep an eye out for any unauthorized accounts opened in her name and to contact police if she notices any.


Birmingham police say there are no witnesses or suspects at the moment.


Police are investigating.
