Doorbell camera catches attempted car break-in

A man living on the 1000 block of Fairway Drive in Birmingham hit a stroke of luck when he was alerted of a suspicious person on his property by his doorbell camera.

The man reported to Birmingham police that at about 1 a.m. on the morning of Thursday, February 6, he received the notification and saw that someone was trying to break into his car.

Birmingham police patrolled the area but reported they were unable to find the suspect.

Police say an investigation is ongoing.
