Common Ground Art Fair this weekend

Enjoy the forecasted beautiful weather this weekend at downtown Birmingham's celebrated Common Ground's 50th Annual Birmingham Street Art Fair, which will take place in and around Shain Park, Saturday, September 28, and Sunday, September 29, and is free to the public.


The Guild of Artists & Artisans, which produces the world-renowned Ann Arbor Summer Fair, is continuing to partner with Common Ground to bring Birmingham Common Ground's Birmingham Street Art Fair, which is celebrating its 50th year of welcoming and delighting fairgoers to Birmingham, which enjoys more than 80,000 visitors each year.


The fine art fair showcases 100 artists, a silent art auction to benefit Common Ground, art activities for kids and adults, live music, and food. The event is within walking distance to convenient parking as well as close to the many unique stores and fabulous restaurants of downtown Birmingham.


The participating artists are jury-selected and include jewelry, ceramics, painting, glass, photography, fiber and more. The featured artwork for this year’s event is created by painter Kathleen Willer (Menomonee Falls, WI). There will be several local, regional, and artists from across the country, such as Karri Jamison (Painting; Hillsboro, WI), Sally Austin (Mixed Media; Carrollton, GA) , Emily Jenkins (Ceramics; Ann Arbor, MI;), Oscar Matos Linares (Photography; Chicago, IL;), and Sarah Stanton (Jewelry; South Lyon, MI; ).


The art fair is open Saturday, September 28, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday, September 29, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
