Car broken into on Henrietta; connected to others

Birmingham police officers were dispatched to the 500 block of Henrietta Street on Wednesday, January 11, after receiving a report of multiple male suspects in the area seen pulling on car door handles, and one suspect’s vehicle was located.


A larceny from auto report was taken from a victim on Henrietta Street whose vehicle was broken into. The victim stated that the vehicle was unlocked at the time and several items were now missing.


After officers took the report, they attempted to make a traffic stop but the suspect fled at high speeds, leading officers to stop the chase.


Birmingham police state the incident is believed to be in connection with a string of other larceny from auto reports in the area, and that an investigation is ongoing.
