Birmingham man reports loan default, threats

A Birmingham man has loaned another man money several times over the past year and finally reported him to Birmingham police on Tuesday, April 1, after never getting payment in return and being threatened.

According to the money lender, the suspect had signed a contract agreeing to pay him back but every check he’s tried to cash has been returned due to insufficient funds. He was reportedly also threatened by the suspect when he brought up reporting him to police.

Birmingham police stated that the suspect has been involved in similar cases in other cities, and that an investigation is ongoing.
