Assistant superintendent interviews in Waterford

Todd Bidlack, Ed.S., the assistant superintendent of learning services for Bloomfield Hills Schools, is interviewing for superintendent of the Waterford School District.


According to a press release from the Waterford School District, the board of education has selected four candidates to interview for the vacant superintendent position. The four finalists were culled from a field of 25 applicants, with first round interviews taking place Monday, October 21, and Tuesday, October 22.


Bidlack is scheduled to interview for Waterford's top spot at 6 p.m. Tuesday, October 22.


Bidlack has been assistant superintendent of learning services for Bloomfield Hills Schools for the last seven years. Prior to coming to the district, he was principal of Delta Elementary School in Rochester Community Schools. He is a graduate of University of Michigan, Flint, with two masters degrees, from Eastern University and Oakland University, and an anticipated PhD in Education in Educational Leadership in 2026 from University of Michigan Flint.


The three other candidates for the Waterford superintendent position are Matt Wandrie, Ed.S., superintendent, Lapeer Community Schools; Catherine Kochanski, MAT, assistant superintendent of Learning Services, Walled Lake Community Schools; and Thomas Ahart, Ed.D., Consultant, Superintendent (former), Des Moines Public Schools, IA.


Waterford Board of Education said after the first round of interviews concludes, they will determine which candidates to invite back for a second round of interviews on October 28.


Waterford Schools Superintendent Scott Lindberg announced his retirement June 21, 2024, which will take place December 31, 2024.
