ArtBirmingham returns to Shain Park May 7-8

After two years away due to COVID-19, ArtBirmingham returns to Shain Park for Mother's Day weekend, Saturday, May 7 and Sunday, May 8.

Celebrating its 41st year in downtown Birmingham, the Birmingham Bloomfield Art Center (BBAC) and the Guild of Artists and Artisans (The Guild) have announced the return of ArtBirmingham.

The highly regarded fine art fair will include approximately 150 jury-selected artists, featuring jewelry, ceramics, painting, glass, photography, fiber, and more. The event benefits the “Art for All” vision of the BBAC. In addition to the wide selection of high-quality artwork for sale, the fair includes live music, a children's art activity tent, and various food vendors making it a wonderful Mother’s Day tradition.

Annie VanGelderen, president/CEO of the BBAC said, “We are so excited after two years of forced shutdown, we will be returning to Shain Park on Mother's Day weekend for our annual Art Birmingham Fine Art Fair. It is so fitting that during the season of joy and promise we reconnect with all that is beautiful, including artists and the beautiful work they make. The art center is grateful to share this experience with the community like we have for so many years and be part of a long tradition during Mother's Day weekend.”

Surrounded by convenient parking for fairgoers and within easy access to the many unique stores and fabulous restaurants of downtown Birmingham, the event will showcase jury-selected artists, free admission, and is expected to attract thousands of visitors.

ArtBirmingham will be open to the public on Saturday, May 7, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and on Sunday, May 8, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
