Arrests made in Ulta, other thefts in Bloomfield

Multiple arrests were made on Wednesday, October 23, after suspects were seen leaving the Ulta Beauty at 2161 S. Telegraph Road in Bloomfield Township, where a witness spotted them filling Ulta bags with perfume and other merchandise before leaving the store.

After leaving without paying, the three suspects who had taken the items from the store entered a Chrysler 200 that was driven by a fourth suspect.

Bloomfield Township police were able to locate the vehicle – which had an Ohio registration plate – and made a traffic stop, during which time they saw the Ulta bags and merchandise in the vehicle.

Police proceeded to place all four suspects under arrest, Dajuandolyn Ramey, Kahshyrah Winters, Ja’Mee Hoskins, and Gloria Nelson, who were all coming from Toledo, Ohio.

Once the vehicle was impounded, a search warrant was obtained by Bloomfield Township police, leading to them finding not only the stolen items from Ulta, but from TJ Maxx and Bath & Body Works, too. There was also merchandise from a Dick’s Sporting Goods that is outside Bloomfield Township.

In total, there was over $3,200 in stolen merchandise from the four stores.

The four defendants were arraigned on Friday, October 25 before Magistrate Julie Nelson-Klein at the 48th District Court where Ramey, the driver, received a $35,000 cash or surety bond; Winters, Nelson and Hoskins all received a $50,000 cash or surety bond.

The Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office authorized charges on three counts: retail fraud first degree, which went against all four of them; Ramey and Winters were issued retail fraud third degree as well; and Ramey received a count for driving with a suspended license.
