Good place for a laugh
Comic City, the Detroit area’s comic and graphic novel headquarters, has opened an outpost in Bloomfield Township, at 2125 S. Telegraph Road right by Panera. Store owners Bob and Jill Smethers obviously have quite the funny bone, as the Bloomfield Comic City is their third location, along with Canton and West Bloomfield, which first opened in 1993, and has since become Michigan’s largest retailer of new comics and the state’s direct market leader in sales of graphic novels. “Comic characters are everywhere nowadays, and Comic City is the place to find all of your favorites, no matter what your age,” they said. “Bring the family in, we’ll help you find the perfect book.” The store carries comic books, graphic novels, action figures, toys, shirts, novelties, action figures, or as a salesman at the store said, “Anything nerds like.” They also have a large selection of collectible games “and are expanding our tabletop and family board games continuously.” As salesman Andy said, “Why shop online when you can put your grubby hands on it?”
